Does this sound like a virus or other type of Malware to you?ġ. So my question is, How can I "activate" Windows without being able to boot to Normal mode? I believe that this may be the place to "activate" the system but I can't get to it. However, I had no way of accessing that via the Windows XP CD using the "R" option. Inside the folder/file was a warning and a background image that said "protected by PC Angel". But there was a folder that was called "System Restore". I kept selecting #2 because there wasn't anything in the miniNT drive that appeared to do anything, To my surprise, the order of the drives listed were: To see if I could recover anything manually. I was able to run a Windows XP startup/install CD and I went to the "R" selection I didn't recognize the program at all and I didn't want to risk losing any of the files and folders already there. Goes to the splash and then abruptly the machine restarts, and it is endlessly looping like that.Īdditionally, when I first tried to boot the HDD, I saw a quick program come upĪnd ask me if I wanted to "restore" the system. Otherwise, the computer tries to boot Windows, When I select it from the Safe mode menu. The problem is that it won't boot in Normal mode, When I clicked on the Administrator icon ,that Microsoft Windows was not activatedĪnd it will not be activated in Safe mode. When ever I tried to boot to Safe mode + networking, it would tell me I was able to boot the machine to Safe mode, only. I fixed the boot loader (NTLDR repair) and proceeded. I discovered that the HDD would not boot.
